Microsoft 365 Skype

Today Microsoft announced that Skype for Business Online will be retiring on July 31, 2021. Though we didn’t know the exact date until today, we have been preparing for this for the past year and are ready to support you however we can as we work together to help you make this transition. Your Microsoft 365 subscription will renew alongside your Skype calling subscription. Skype subscriptions are set to renew automatically, so as long as you have a valid payment method for your recurring payment, you don’t need to worry about manually renewing your Skype or Microsoft 365 subscriptions.

  1. Current Skype for Business Online customers with existing Microsoft 365 tenants will experience no change in the service up to its retirement date and may continue adding new users as needed. As of September 1, 2019, all new Microsoft 365 customers will be onboarded directly to Teams.
  2. Get people together with group video or voice calls with up to 25 people. Message your friends in an instant and add up to 300 people to a group chat. Call mobiles and landlines at low rates (Skype to Skype calls are always free). Share photos, files (up to 300MB), screens.
